If you're looking for great Peruvian food in Medellin, this is your best bet! The creative forces behind Peru Mix brought a chef from Lima to design an authentic menu, and the results are fabulous. What makes a place like Peru Mix great is that it provides high-end food at reasonable prices, and they certainly don't skimp on the portions. It's also open til midnight every night, and just seconds from Parque Lleras, so it's a great late-night spot for dinner or a midnight snack.

Your best bet is to start out with the ceviche sampler: it's three generous portions of ceviche; one is the classic Peruvian preparation, the second is a teriyaki-based ceviche, and the third is mixed with a traditional orange Peruvian aji, or chili pepper. Next on your list, try the lomo saltado, tender slices of beef, tomato, onion, and pepper, served with rice and french fries. And you certainly don't want to leave without trying the delightful papa a la huancaina. A dish traditionally found in the Huancayo region of the central highlands of Peru, it features boiled yellow potatoes in a creamy sauce of queso fresco (fresh cheese), vegetable oil, aji, and salt.

And if you still aren't full, definitely try the chicharron sandwich, stuffed with delicious pork, Peruvian style. There is also beer and fresh juices, such as strawberry (fresa), maracuya (passionfruit), mora (blackberry), and mango for sale. It's a great place to take a date for dinner, and your wallet will thank you afterwards. The ceviche sampler, for example, is just $20.900, while a lomo saltado goes for $16.900.
