El Taurete is just across the street from Parque El Poblado and it's certainly one of the best spots to grab your almuerzo (lunch) in Medellin. On the day that I went, the soup of the day was corn, and I was served up delicious coconut rice, patacones (fried banana cakes) with guacamole, a delicious salad, and a tasty filet of robalo (bass) fish. This delicious meal was just $8.000 and it included unlimited guarapo, a Colombian version of lemonade famed in the south of Colombia, especially Cali.

Backpackers and tourists in Medellin will constantly be passing by this spot, on the corner of Calle 10 and Avenida El Poblado. It's right in between the Poblado metro station and Parque Lleras, and it's a great spot for breakfast as well. If you want to get some Colombian food at a good price in El Poblado, this is your spot!
