(Numerous locations throughout Colombia)

Archie's Trattoria is a Colombia institution that should be at the top of your list, especially if you are tiring of Colombian cuisine. They serve up delicious Italian food at very reasonable prices, and are located throughout the country, but especially in Bogota, where they have 21 locations, including Usaquen, Cedritos, Parque 93, and Centro Comercial Andino, on Calle 82. They are also in numerous other Colombian cities, including Medellin, Cali, Cartagena, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, and Pereira.

They serve up incredible pizza, pastas, lasagna, antipasto, as well as a variety of beef, poultry, and seafood dishes. Meals begin with french bread compliments of the house served with a delicious blend of olive oil and sweet vinagrette. Perhaps the best thing on the menu is the simple, and vegetarian, spaghetti bolonese, which features a spectacularly made pasta sauce, and some of the best and most authentic-tasting pasta you'll ever eat.

The antipasto platter is particularly good, featuring a sampling of many different Italian delicacies: salami, prosciutto, manchego cheese, buffalo mozzarella, roasted peppers, grilled eggplant, arugula, and garlic bread with pesto.

I would especially recommend the limonada con hierba buena (lemonade with spearmint). And for desert, why not try an enormous brownie topped with ice cream and whipped cream?

The service is always attentive and quite good, and it has the look and feel of a genuine Italian trattoria. I will say, however, that the service is sometimes a bit slow, but you'll find this throughout Colombia. However, it's hard to be disappointed with what you find at Archie's, and the prices are very reasonable.
