Where to Stay: Cali

While Cali is not yet a booming tourist destination like its neighbors Bogota and Medellin, tourism is growing in Cali, and the hostel community is growing with it. Most hostels in the city are centered around the northwestern neighborhood of Granada, in the shadow of the Torre de Cali, and just west of the banks of the Rio Cali. Here you're also just minutes from Menga, the city's after hours party zone just north of the city.

Cali does have a rough edge to it, especially in the southern and eastern parts of the city, but Granada, with the Sexta entertainment zone, is about as safe as it gets. Our choice for lodging is Pelican Larry, which is under new management recently. It's also just 5 minutes by taxi from the Terminal, or 15 or 20 minutes walking.
