Pereira's Sweet Home Hostel is the only one in town. Located on the other side of town from the bus terminal it's just $5.000 and about 10 minutes from the Terminal de Pereira. Tucked away in the quiet residential Maraya neighborhood, it's a small, clean, and friendly spot, with a helpful staff. It's also less than a five minute walk to Pereira's Megabus system; the stop is called Calle 41/Ucumari.

Owner Juan has been here for four years, and he's very helpful and enthusiastic about pointing tourists and backpackers towards the best attractions in the city. He'll especially recommend a small town in Risaralda called Marsella, if you want to get to know the coffee region, and the famed Termales de Santa Rosa, lovely hot springs, located just an hour north of town.

There are 18 dorm beds, spread out among 4 dormitories, and 2 private rooms, without bathrooms. Rooms are a little cramped, but clean, and the mattresses are very comfortable. Dorms go for $22.000, while private rooms go for $35.000.

The hostel features two patio areas with hammocks, a nice and spacious kitchen that guests can use, a large television lounge/living room area, and several bathrooms with piping hot water.

The only real downside is that there isn't a lot going on in this part of town. But hop on the Megabus or grab a cheap taxi and you're just minutes away from the Centro, la Circunvular (the town's major Zona Rosa), and all the attractions the coffee zone has to offer.
