Where to Stay: Coffee Zone

Colombia's central coffee zone (also called zona cafetera or eje cafetero in Spanish) is a beautiful part of the country. Tourism is on the rise. The three principal cities of the Zona Cafetera are Manizales, Armenia, and Pereira, while spots such as Marsella and Salento are idyllic and tranquil villages on the outskirts of cities.

While Manizales has truly experienced the tourism boom, with many hostels to choose from, Armenia and Pereira each offer only one hostel: Sweet Home Hostel in Pereira, and Casa Quimbaya in Armenia.

Salento and Marsella, however, offer a wide range of lodging and accommodations for all budget levels.

With coffee farms, hot springs, friendly people, and a heavenly climate, it's little wonder that the Coffee Zone is one of the most up-and-coming areas of Colombia for tourism.
