Bogota's Hostal Fatima is the largest in town, located deep in the heart of the historic La Candelaria neigborhood, and very close to El Chorro, the city's bohemian hangout. It can accommodate upwards of seventy people, and it's a great spot for backpackers. Here you'll meet people from all around the world, and enjoy large and spacious common areas and good service.

The real beauty of Hostal Fatima is its plant-lined courtyards, some of which have glass ceilings. It has a nice kitchen for guest use, a very pleasant television lounge with comfortable couches, and ample size to accommodate even the largest of groups.

The only downside about being this far into La Candelaria is that you're a little far from the Transmilenio, but it's still under a ten minute walk, and with recent advances in safety and security in the area, it's a safe walk, even well after dark.

Hostal Fatima has been around for a long time in Bogota, and it's not going away anytime soon. As I walked around the vast interior, a group of Argentine backpackers broke into harmonious song in the courtyard. That kind of gives you a good idea for the feel of this Bogota backpacking institution.
